I did a little sightseeing tour with the sightseeing bus. During this drive I could already see the most important things in Shanghai. Here you can see the "Oldtown" of Shanghai with its traditional architecture.

The bus also drove through a tunnel to cross the river. On the other side of the river is Pudong. It is the international financial district of Shanghai with many large buildings and huge towers.

Here is a picture of the "Oldtown" by night. It looks even more stunning as you can see. The houses are all decorated with yellow lights. I love this place the most! It's definitely my favorite tourist place in Shanghai. "Yuyuan Garden" is here as well.

Beautiful Seoul

This was my second meal in a Korean restaurant. It is very common to always get free water and you do not have to pay any tips! So this saves a lot of money for me. Here, I found it so cool that we got this red clothing piece to protect our clothes from getting dirty. Such a good idea!

My very first bingsu in Korea. Bingsu is shaved icecream with different toppings. Here we had many different fruits and there were also red beans underneath the shaved icecream. Sooooo delicious!

You can do so many things during the night. Many shops, food stores, grocery stores and bars are open until late. Usually, it is quite crowded on the streets. The weather is pleasant as well. Not too hot and not too cold. I am really enjoying the nightlife in Seoul.

Of course, my friend Lian and me also did some sightseeing. We went to a buddhist temple and walked around a little and took pictures. Those lampions were really pretty. People could write a wish on a card to hang them on lampions all over the temple.

One month from today

Dear reader,

this blog will be my personal diary of my upcoming exchange year 2015 - 2016 in Shanghai, China.

Right now, there is only about 1 month left until the beginning of my travel journey.

I will fly to South Korea first to visit my best friend Lian who is currently doing an exchange year over there.

As the time draws closer, I am getting more and more excited but at the same time I am really sad to leave my family and friends behind.

The thought of not seeing my family and closest friends for one year brings up tears in my eyes.

I am sure that I will miss them all very much.
